When I was a kid, I always asked my mom to make this. It was my absolute favorite.

5. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning evenly over the top.
6. Layer the remaining ham, salami, and provolone cheese on top of the pepper mix.
7. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay it over the layers, pressing to seal the edges and seams.
8. Brush the top layer of crescent dough with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Variations & Tips
For picky eaters, you can keep the filling simple with just ham and cheese, or leave the peppers on the side so everyone can build their plate the way they like it. If your family enjoys a little extra flavor, try adding sliced black olives, a few thin rings of red onion, or a light spread of mayo or Italian dressing after baking for more of that classic sub taste.
If you’re serving these for a party, bake them a little ahead of time and let them rest before slicing so the layers stay neat. I also like to set out a small platter of lettuce, tomato, and extra banana peppers so friends and family can dress up their squares however they want. These are wonderful warm, but they also travel well for potlucks and casual weekend get-togethers.
