Established medical treatments should not be replaced with cloves or other home remedies.
5. A Simple Clove Tea
One of the easiest ways to use whole cloves is to prepare a mild infusion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of water
- 4–5 whole cloves
- A small amount of honey, if desired
Preparation
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the whole cloves.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
- Strain the liquid.
- Add a small amount of honey if you prefer a sweeter taste.
The resulting drink can be enjoyed as a warm, flavorful beverage.
It should not be considered a medical treatment.
What About Clove Steam?
Some traditional remedies recommend adding cloves to hot water and inhaling the steam.
However, there is an important safety consideration here.
Steam inhalation can cause serious burns, particularly if a person places their face too close to hot water.
There is also no strong evidence that clove steam “detoxifies” the body.
For these reasons, steam inhalation should not be considered a necessary health treatment.
Clove Oil Requires Extra Care
Clove oil is much more concentrated than whole cloves.
Applying undiluted clove oil directly to the mouth, gums, or skin can cause irritation or tissue damage.
It should therefore be used carefully and according to appropriate guidance.
