Ingredients for 4 servings: 500g ground beef, 1 egg, 3 tbsp breadcrumbs, 1 small onion, salt and pepper. For the sauce: 1 red and 1 yellow bell pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tbsp tomato paste, 150ml broth, 200ml cream, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp sweet paprika powder, salt and pepper.
Combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, and finely diced onion. Season with salt and pepper and form into small meatballs.
Heat the oil in a large pan and brown the meatballs thoroughly on all sides. Remove and set aside briefly.
Cut the bell peppers into thin strips and finely chop the garlic. Sauté both in the pan drippings for a few minutes. Add the tomato paste and paprika powder and sauté briefly.
Deglaze with the broth and cream and bring the sauce to a boil. Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer over medium heat for about 10–15 minutes, until they are fully cooked and the sauce is nice and creamy.
Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with parsley, if desired. Serve with rice, spaetzle, or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
